Transmission Line Engineer (Mid to Sr Levels)
We are seeking to fill multiple Transmission Line Engineering positions to be part of a growing and dynamic team. The candidates will work in a fast past environment which requires sharp analytical skills and agility to pivot with changes in project demands. Experience in designing overhead electrical lines is preferred (any voltage utilizing PLS-CADD software suite). Most projects are complex and involves multiple moving targets, thus excellent time management and a task-oriented mindset is highly desirable.
The successful applicant(s) will have experience utilizing and interpreting NESC, ASCE, ACI and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of overhead electrical lines. Additionally, other responsibilities include engineering analyses, preparation of bill of materials, creation of construction packages, assist with bidding packages, create plans and specifications, and prepare construction documents. The Transmission Line Engineer(s) are also expected to attend client meetings and discuss details about the design, any issues and roadblocks, recommendations, and any other project related items. High social intelligence individuals are desirable.
This is a remote position and will require travel at times (approximately 20% - 30%).
Qualifications:
Experience in modeling and reviewing full transmission line designs in PLS-CADD software suite (PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER)
Knowledge in the design and review concrete foundation designs (typically drilled piers) using hand calculations and design software such as LPILE, FAD Tools, and PLS Caisson
Ability to interpret and apply industry codes and standards such as NESC, ACI, ASEC, AISC, etc.
Experience with working and understanding engineering standards, specifications, construction documentation, engineering drawings, project schedules, and technical writing
Ability to develop project scopes, estimating budgets, and proposals
Team player that can support teammates and also independently perform and execute
Proven ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders (internally and externally)
Thrive in a remote work environment that leverages telecommunications daily and travel periodically
Knowledge and fluent use of PLS-CADD Suite, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, FAD Tools, and LPILE
Keen to learning new technologies and software when applicable
Driven, persistent, positive attitude, and great decision making skills
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other industry related field required
Advanced Engineering degree is desirable
Minimum of 4 year of direct transmission line engineering experience
EIT
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
