SR Structural Engineer

The Sr Structural Engineer will perform structural analyses, calculations, modeling, and reviews of a variety of structural and foundation designs typically found in the power delivery industry. Knowledge and experience with design and analysis of steel lattice towers and deep foundations are desirable. This is a highly analytical position and requires deep understanding of structural engineering principles and the ability to apply sound engineering judgement and logically interoperate engineering codes and standards.

The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of structural engineering concepts, ability to think outside the box, and willingness to perform analysis to prove feasibility of design. Top candidate will showcase their qualifications by leveraging their project experience and knowledge to bring value to our clients and our company.

This is a remote position and will require travel at times (approximately 30%).


Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Technical & Processes

    • Perform structural engineering analysis, calculations and reviews

    • Champion the QA/QC process and identify improvements when necessary

    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on structural designs and projects

    • Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR) to on structural project

    • Prepare structural engineering specifications

    • Advise management of processes and procedures improvements when necessary

    • Creation of technical reports and work packages

    • Ability to learn and utilize structural engineering design software as needed

  2. Mentorship, Training, & Career Development

    • Mentor less experienced structural engineers on the team and help guide their development in the structural engineering field

    • Provide training to team members as needed

    • Assist in the annual review of structural engineering team members

  3. Other

    • Participate in business development discussions and activities as needed, including attending conferences and other activities

    • Assist in the creation of Proposals and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) as needed

    • Provide input on resourcing needs

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other industry related field required

  • Advanced Engineering degree is desirable

  • Minimum of 8 year of industry related experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
