Director of Engineering
The Director of Engineering is responsible for the overall leadership of the Engineering Group. The role focuses on the technical development of the engineering staff and the quality of the engineering program. The Director of Engineering will own the engineering strategies, processes, and programs to support the company’s Mission, Core Values, and Culture.
This is a remote position and will require travel at times (approximately 25%).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Champion and manifest the company’s Mission, Core Values, and Culture
Mentor and lead a team of Engineering Managers
Assist the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of team members
Enforce company policy in accordance with Company Handbook
Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical & Processes
Develop, implement and maintain a strategy for leading the technical engineering groups as they continue to grow and evolve
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within their qualified field of expertise and provide project support when applicable
Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR) to support projects as needed and when appropriate
Collaborates with Company’s leadership to develop and achieve goals and provide guidance on operations, business development, processes, systems, clients, and projects.
Work with management to develop a robust engineering QA/QC program to assure engineering excellence
Identifies, recommends, and implement new processes, procedures, technologies, and systems to improve engineering processes and quality
Mentorship, Training, & Career Development
Mentor and lead Engineering Managers in their development and career progression
Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Principal Engineers to develop and maintain overall for engineering training and development programs
Assist in the annual review of team members
Other
Responsible for the overall success of the engineering program including P&L
Participate in business development discussions and activities as needed, including attending conferences and other activities
Assist in the creation of Proposals and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) as needed
Provide input and direction on resourcing needs
Support management in other technical or business related activities as required
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other industry related field required
MBA or equivalent is preferred
Minimum of 12 year of industry related experience
Minimum of 5 years of engineering management
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)

Salary: $120k - $180k annually
